Developer Tries to Overturn Opposition
After Investcor requested a postponement of the P&Z public hearing originally scheduled for August 28th, they immediately started to contact the property owners within 200ft of the property line to try to persuade them to revoke their opposition.
Investcor’s goal is clear: To reduce the number of home owner oppositions within the 200ft perimeter zone to below the 20% threshold and AVOID the requirement of a supermajority vote (5 out of 7 ‘yes’ votes) from City Council in order for approval.
Currently, 23.8% of the area within 200ft of the property line of the proposed project has submitted formal opposition to the city. In addition to this opposition, the neighborhood at large opposes Investcor’s proposal to obtain the specific use permit (SUP) to build a 240-unit multi-family apartment complex adjacent to North Lakes Park and the North Lakes neighborhood.
If a representative of Investcor or Kirkman Engineering contacts you to try to convince you to revoke your opposition, please share your thoughts, hold your conviction, and let us know.
